Hajj Applications will be accepted from next week by Banks
The dates for submitting applications for Hajj 2023 have been announced by the federal government. Mufti Abdul Shakoor, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony disclosed the dates in a press conference after the federal cabinet approved the Hajj Policy 2023.
As per the details shared by the Minister, the application process will start on Thursday, March 16, and end on Friday, March 31. The draw for the applications will take place in the first week of April.
The Minister advised interested applicants to prepare the necessary documents beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.
The Minister mentioned that the global recession has impacted both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, leading to an increase in the cost of Hajj under the government scheme by Rs. 3 lac due to the depreciation of the Pakistani Rupee.
He also highlighted the approval of a sponsorship scheme, which, if fully utilized, will contribute $194 million out of the $284 million required for the successful execution of this year’s Hajj scheme. The Finance Ministry has assured us it to cover the remaining cost.
