Poco X6 Pro Launches in India with Powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8300!

POCO X6 Pro is all set to make its debut in 2024 with the launch of the POCO X6 series. The company confirmed the launch of the new devices early next year but did not reveal a specific timeline. Interestingly, before the launch, Flipkart launched a microsite for the POCO X6 series. The brand has yet to confirm how many devices in the POCO X6 series will be launched, but a report suggests that the POCO X6 Pro will be the first smartphone in the lineup to reach India.

POCO India has confirmed that the upcoming device, the X6 Pro, will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra. It’s a powerful chipset that’s comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in terms of performance. According to the FCC certification, the POCO X6 Pro comes in variants with 7 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM with 512 GB internal storage. If these details sound familiar to you, it’s because the POCO X6 Pro has been tipped as a rebadged Redmi K70e. The K70 series has recently gone official in China and will target global markets under the POCO branding. There are just some subtle differences.

Redmi K70e features 90W charging. However, the POCO X6 Pro will see a slight drop to 67W charging in India. This wouldn’t be the first time a company has changed charging speeds for a particular market. Apart from this specification, the phone will retain the same features as the Redmi K70e.

The POCO X6 Expert will include a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K goal (2,712 x 1,220 pixels). The panel will have a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It will also boast 1,920Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and DCI-P3 color gamut.

Under the hood, the phone is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC with Mali G615 GPU. It has 8 GB and 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM. In terms of storage, the device has either 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The POCO X6 Expert will include a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K goal (2,712 x 1,220 pixels). In terms of optics, the device has a 64 MP primary camera with a 1/2-inch sensor size and OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro camera, and dual-tone LED flash.

The POCO X6 Pro will also bring a 16 MP selfie camera, a 5,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other features include Dolby Atmos, NFC, GPS, IR Blaster, and stereo speakers with Wi-Fi 6 support. Additionally, the phone has Hi-Res Audio certification and Hi-Res Wireless certification.

The Redmi K70e has hit the Chinese market with a price tag of CNY 1,999 for the 12 GB / 256 GB variant. It can be converted for around $280 which is around Rs 23,500. In other words, the POCO X6 Pro could hit the Indian market with a price tag below INR 25,000 which is a very attractive price considering everything the smartphone has to offer. Hi-Res Audio Certification, and Hi-Res Wireless Certification

Considering the specifications, the POCO X6 Pro will be a step up from its predecessor. The POCO X5 Pro had the Snapdragon 778G and while it was a powerful chipset, it fell behind the performance offered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra. The processor will allow users to run everything available on the Google Play Store. From basic apps to the most essential games.

Xiaomi’s POCO is sure to create hype even before its release. So we expect more details about the phone to be shared soon. Apart from the POCO X6 Pro, the company is also expected to introduce a vanilla variant, and perhaps the POCO X5 GT. We expect more details to emerge soon.
